Volunteering at SJB
Volunteering @ SJB is as easy as 1-2-3.
St. John Brebeuf School welcomes and appreciates the kindness and generosity of all its volunteers. Volunteering is a rewarding way you can contribute to St. John Brebeuf athletics, field trips, lunch duty (substitute) and special events. Submit the following documents to a school office in paper form, or email digital copies to schooloffice@sjbcommunity.ca
For all parent volunteers who wish to participate in field trips, overnight trips, lunch duty substitute and any other activities involving direct contact with students.
1. Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check (may take several weeks): LINK (Valid for 5 years)
2. Child Abuse Registry Check (may take several weeks): Link (Valid for 5 Years): LINK
3. Read the combined file of the Code of Conduct (from the Parent and Student Handbook), the Code of Professional Ethics, and the Student Protection Policy documents and sign and submit Appendix A: Statement of Understanding: (every year). LINK
For Coaches Only
Requirements 1, 2, and 3 above plus the following:
3. Respect in Sport Certificate (for coaching- 6 hr. course): LINK (Valid for 5 Years)
4. Respect in School Certificate (3 hr. course): LINK (Valid for 4 years.)
Note: All checks are at the expense of each volunteer. Volunteers will be notified when courses and checks require renewing. Parents are encouraged to get their checks when their first child enters kindergarten and again before the end of grade 4. Thank you in advance for your contribution to our community.
