Music & the Arts
The Music Department strives to provide students with a variety of opportunities for musical, creative, and spiritual growth. Students will sing, move, play instruments, and be introduced to a great variety of sacred and secular music. Students who participate in music throughout their time at St. John Brebeuf School will play a variety of percussion instruments, both pitched and non-pitched, through Orff-inspired practice; listen to, play, and move to music by history’s greatest composers; sing and have the opportunity to lead worship in Mass; play recorder in curricular and extracurricular ensembles; learn to play chords and melodies on guitar in curricular and extra-curricular ensembles; and create music using Chromebooks or in our computer lab with digital audio workstations. The curricular and extracurricular music programs are designed to give students as much opportunity as possible to create the music that they feel passionate about and develop life-long creative and music-making skills.

- Academy of Music piano classes (value added program available after school)
